Altstadt Fest

Saturday night was all fun and games. I was going to have a neighbors kids watch all of the kids, ours and Dylan for the Hedlofs, but we were waiting and waiting, and finally Paul asked our neighbor upstairs, Misty. She said that she'd watch the kids (thank goodness), and we headed out. We walked down to the fest, and started off by going into a biergarten which was set back away from things and looked really pretty. Then we listened to a band play for a bit, and then we pretty much just walked around, and giggled a LOT. It was so much fun, I don't think I've had that much fun in a very long time. We played games, ate some food, and then finally walked home. On the way home, I stubbed my pinky toe and fell down, giggling! We made it back, picked up the kids and went to bed, that night, I could hardly sleep, the weight of the blankets was hurting my toe. So yesterday I'm walking around, we decided to take the girls to the fest to ride a ride, and get some food and what not, and they had a blast, but my toe was really hurting still. Finally we get home, I look at it and sure enough its black and blue. I'm 50% sure that I probably broke it, but its feeling a little better today, so who knows. Anyway, our time at the fest was absolutely awesome, I can't wait to do it again!

Paintball and partytime!

So we are pretty widely known for our little get togethers/parties. We always have fun bringing soldiers over here to hang out, play rockband, and drink safely. Nobody is allowed to drive home if they are too drunk, or they just stay the night. It almost always ends up being a lot of fun, and we all get closer because of it. Since we've been over here in Germany, we've made a lot of new friends, we are enjoying our time over here, and we are opening our house up to the single soldiers and married soldiers alike. If things ever get too rowdy, said person is usually not allowed back, but things are usually pretty calm and laid back. We usually just end up playing rock band, and chatting the rest of the night. This past weekend was one of the more fun ones that we've had. We had a lot of people over, Tinsley, Pere, Bauman, Morphy, a new guy named Osborn, the Hedlofs came, the Hurey's stopped by, and Misty and the kids came too. We even had a new guy show up with a huge hurricane glass of green looking drinkage, lol. It was a blast.

We started off the day with going to play paintball, that was some fun stuff. The Dukes watched the girls for us, and we spent the day on the field playing. I have only ever played once and it was a brief speed ball during the spouses challenge. I thought it was fun then, so I went ahead and agreed to a day out to see how I liked it. I was with 4 other guys including my husband, who was trying really hard to include me, but I couldn't help feeling a little lost in the testosterone, lol. It was still fun. I didn't get too badly injured, of course, I hid a lot as well though. I did get shot a few times. Once on the back, but it didn't hurt at all, I got shot on my toe, the ball didn't break, but it hurt my toe pretty bad at the time. I got shot once on the knuckle of my index finger, yellow paint was everywhere and my hand was throbbing with pain so bad, I pretty much stopped playing that game. I got hit once in the mask, awesome since it doesn't hurt, just kind of suprising. And I got hit on my hopper (a term for the loader of the paintball gun). Everyone was tired and dirty and some of the guys had run out of paintballs, so we called it a day, dropped off the troops told them to shower and get ready to come over.

I really didn't realize how incredibly tired I was until we had everyone over here and I got to sit down for the first time that day. I could have probably passed out pretty easily right then and there. But I pushed through, had some shots of tequila with Lauren and Misty and we partied the night away. Somewhere in the midst of it all, the new guy Osborn was completely trashed, no puking though which is a great thing. Pere got cut by Dean, Pere always ends up bleeding at the parties, lol. Tinsley and the new guy stayed the night. Misty got mad at the guys for being dumb or something, and we had a neighbor come over to share the huge hurricane liquid. Definately some fun times. I love our parties, and I can't wait to have more!

Happy Birthday Autumn!

7 years ago today, I went into labor at 5:30 am, well actually my water broke, or at least I THOUGHT it broke, I had no clue really. I had to go potty, kind of felt a little tiny pop and I felt trickles that I didn't know whether or not it was me going to the restroom all over myself, lol. So I called my doctor at the time and he told me to go in. Sure enough I was in labor. They gave me an epidural (which didn't even work, it only worked on ONE side of my body, fun times), and I layed there. My poor husband had just come home from Korea at 7:30 the previous night (meaning I went into labor within a few hours of him being there), and so he completely passed out on the couch. Meanwhile I just let him sleep while I progressed slowly, but surely. Around 8 pm the doctors told me I had to start pushing (oh and probably a half hour before that they finally fixed my epi, which was a relief), I pushed for 45 minutes and my first, sweet baby girl was born at 8:46 pm on August 9th, 2002. She had almost black hair, grey eyes, and she was perfect to me! I fell in love with her immediately. Since then she has only grown up to be an even sweeter daughter, and she makes my life a joy every single day. She definately has her ups and downs (what kid doesn't?), but overall, she's a great kid to have around. So, I think I'll keep her!

Today was her celebration of her 7th birthday, Paul was actually home for this one. He managed to miss her first birthday, her second birthday, her fourth, fifth and sixth birthdays, so we wanted to go all out for her. We got her a little too many presents, and we threw her a party, and we also got tickets to take her and Sierra to a theme park that is about an hour away. So we went a little overboard, but she absolutely had a blast. I didn't feel that well this morning, but Paul and I still managed to make an outstanding breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes (all per request). We then prepared for a wonderful birthday party, which was even fun for the adults. While the kids all played, us adults took to the Rock Band, and had a lot of fun singing, playing drum, guitar or bass, lol! It was great! The kids even were able to play some too. Autumn made out like a bandit with all of the new things she got. She got some games for her DS, she got a new book, a few new barbies, new Hannah Montana things (her new thing as of lately), she even got an easy bake oven, thanks to the Hurey family! We had snacks of grapes, pineapple, oranges, strawberries, and blueberries, and fruit dip of course. We also had watermelon, Paul made a delicious pizza dip with breadsticks, and we had some olives as well. We served up an ice cream cake that went really fast, and all of the kids recieved some Hannah Montana gift bags. The party lasted until almost 6, so for about 3 hours, but all in all it was very fun! Now that the party is over, Paul was being a great daddy, and went out and got us some food for dinner, we also helped Autumn put together some of her toys. She can't wait to ride that new Razor Scooter she got, complete with a new helmet, of course!

The girls are now in bed, Paul is playing a video game, I'm writing on my blog thinking about going to bed and reading (right now I'm reading 7th Heaven, by James Patterson). Today was a fanstastic day, I'm so blessed to have been able to share it with so many of my dear friends, whom I consider family, because to be honest, in the army, your friends ARE your family. I want to thank them all soooo much for coming today, I'm sure not one of them will read this, but in case they do, know that I'm entirely thankful for you! Okay now that I've gone all sappy, and I'm also rambling a bit...so I'm gonna hit the sack!

Starting new...

Well, here goes a whole lot of nothing! I used to have a blog on another site, lets just say that the site was compromised, and so I'm going to start fresh! Somewhere that family and friends can visit and take a glimpse into the Hirsch Household. Speaking of Hirsch Household, the whole name Hirsch Household 6 was originally thought of by my wonderful husband, Paul. He came up with this name because Household 6 or say S6 in the army does pretty much everything, and you always have to go through them to get anything done, lol. Figured a little play on words and voila, my new blogspot. So lets get this thing started, I'll tell you about my day...
